It will enable you to get your thoughts and ideas across more effectively and to understand others’ ideas better. Building your vocabulary is a profitable investment of both your time and effort. Language is power and being able to convey your thoughts efficiently and effectively with the most precise words enhances that power. Next time you come across a word that eludes you, write it down, get familiar with its use(s), and start incorporating those words into your speech and correspondence. A great way to increase your vocabulary is by reading. Read more books, magazines, newspapers, and journals, especially anything related to your industry and field. You can also subscribe to word-of-the-day emails from the myriad of online dictionary sites.
